Tour de France Devil - Ink and watercolor illustration

The Tour de France brings a lot of characters to the sidelines, but my favorite is the guy above. Every year he gets dressed up in a full devil garb (complete with pitchfork, cape, and horns) to challenge the riders who dare to climb the mountains and ascend to the rare are of the great Alps and Pyrenees.

I believe the legend goes that mortals were never meant to reach such great heights and he’s there to challenge them. If you’re a fan of the tour, there’s no doubt that you’ve seen his antics. If you’re a quirky cycling fan like me, this might be for you :)
